Showsilk puppies are ready to go to their new owners when they are 8-9 weeks old. Registered in NKK with pedigree, microchipped, and wormed. They leave us with a collar and a puppypackage from Eukanuba, their pedigree and a health certificate.  Our puppies are not vaccianted if they leave us before they are 12 weeks old, because the new vaccination here in Norway shall be given the pup from after that age. Our breeding is our hobby, and the puppies grows up in our livingroom. Show, agility or hunting interested buyers are wanted. If you want to see how our dogs live, please visit us. Just remember to call us first. And ask one time to much than one less!

WHY AN AUSTRALIAN SILKY TERRIER?

The Australian Silky Terrier is an alert, intelligent, assertive, friendly companion dog.  Originally developed to hunt domestic rodents, they thrive on constant activity and will continue to pursue it’s ability to hunt when ever the opportunity arises.

The Silky may be small in stature but with his brave, outgoing terrier-type temperament leads you to believe, he is much larger than he is. An intelligent breed, the Silky is loyal to his family, easy to train and an excellent watchdog.

Full of energy, this versatile breed will adapt to any situation, making it suitable as a companion in a one-bedroom apartment or as a family dog.  Their small size makes them an ideal household pet, not being too big for the children, the car or the garden and will not break ornaments with one sweep of the tail or cost a fortune to feed.

They are great with children and will play with them for hours, whether it be a game of hide-and-seek, or ‘fetch the ball’, however a Silky does not enjoy being fussed over or being treated like an animated toy as it prefers to be treated as an equal.  The Silky will usually devote itself to one particular family member (usually the one who feeds it!), but will remain loving and loyal to all it’s family members.

Like most long coated dogs, the Silky loves being groomed provided this procedure is started at a very early age. The amount of grooming required is dependent on the actual length of coat your Silky has inherited. Because the Silky is single coated he does not shed coat and makes a great little household pet for asthmatics and allergy prone people.
